Registering the software

IMPORTANT:

erify tha

a correct license activation file is installed and restart the VFW1000 for the following purposes:

• For the virtual router to obtain complete functions and features for the initial use.

• For the virtual router to operate correctly each time the license file is updated, for example, during

license capacity expansion.

The H3C website provides the function of registering a license activation file. The H3C website generates

the license activation file according to the serial number of a device and the license key in the software

license purchased by users. To use the software function of the VFW1000, you must install the license

activation file on the device.

License registration procedures

License registration includes the following procedures:

• Registering the first time—R

egisters a license for a device that has never been activated.

• Registering an upgrade license—R

egisters a license for add-on nodes, add-on features, or time

extension.

After you have applied for the activation file, you must install the activation file on the device.
